Social media videos also showed workers at the state parliament rallying around Meranda, as they chanted “Madam Speaker” in solidarity with her.
Developments in the Lagos Assembly on Monday, according to investigations, are said to be connected with the ongoing leadership tussle between former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa who was impeached last month and incumbent Mojisola Meranda.
The crisis has led to a division between the Governors Advisory Council (GAC), the apex body of Lagos APC and the lawmakers.
